Hi, I am Shamala

Even after a Master’s degree in Finance & accounting, I was in a situation where I did not know, where my passion lies. I tried my hands on various career fields to explore my interest, ultimately finding my calling in Digital Marketing. To realize that, it took me around a year and a half of struggling. Hence, I know how it feels when you know you have the spark, the skill-set to create something and yet you have no idea what it is!

Learn with shamala

Fast forward to Dec 2019, I met a Coach online who coached me in starting a side hustle related to Digital Marketing on Social Media.

So, in January 2020, I started an Instagram Page ‘Learn with shamala’. Even though I had no idea how to take it ahead, I posted Digital Marketing content along and how to self- learn kind of content.

As months passed, I came into contact with amazing business coaches who provided me an opportunity to serve them as a beta Virtual assistant to hone my skills.

All the mentoring, experience prepared me to create content on starting and managing an online service based business, tech productivity and overall organizing of business activity.

Education.

I have my Master’s Degree in Commerce (Specialization in Finance & administration) from India. However, Digital Marketing wasn’t a part of my curriculum and I have learned everything from scratch.

Work Experience.

I am working with service-based women entrepreneurs since May 2020 in different capacities.

Additionally, I have completed Certified courses from Google, online courses from MOZ Academy, Savvy Vault, and Facebook Community. I also worked on three Digital Marketing internship from Acadium Platform with good feedback.

Good to Know.

During my internship days and working for beta clients, I worked as a Podcast Outreach VA, Trello Project Manager, Lead Generation & engagement, Social Media Manager, Pinterest Manager, and Website Designer.

All the services I provided to my clients, not only helped me in narrowing down my niche but also taught me about different aspects that go behind running a successful business.

I love planning & Journaling

I am a crazy planner. Whether it is my day-to-day household chores or business tasks, I need a clear plan on what to accomplish by the end of the day. I use ‘Asana’ as my project management tool, but I love using a planner from ‘Day Designer’ to write my tasks every morning.
I journal regularly. It helps me to brainstorm creative ideas, vent some negative feelings and let go of emotions that serve no purpose.

Minimalism

I started embracing minimalism after watching Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix in 2019. After reading both her books, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and Spark Joy, I have been obsessed with keeping my house and mental space clutter-free.
Additionally, I am becoming more interested in using environment-friendly, eco-friendly products & clothes. I have started taking small steps by swapping my day-to-day items with products that aren’t harming our environment.
